Zombie Armageddon (5&6 box set) by Ian Woodhead [ 3 stars ]

From the Description:

BOOK FIVE: DEAD REAPING

The shivering remnants of Britain's plague survivors hide behind the last fortified settlement, surrounded by the ravenous hordes of the dead. The Settlement's Defence Force guard their borders, desperately trying to keep the dead out.

Their town has a new enemy though, THE TAINTED hide amongst them, humans infected with the virus who haven't completely succumb to the full virus. They have their own agenda, a plan of their own.

BOOK SIX: HUMAN FILTH

Flesh eating thieves roam the ruined land of kings and queens, picking off the emaciated remnants stubborn enough not to die, one by one. One more game will be played in the once great capital. Newcomers from overseas and nature's experiments are caught between new life, continued existence and final death.

The outcome could mean a new hope but in hope, hides extinction.

Dead Reaping - I have enjoyed this series of zombie books and number 5 was no exception. The virus is mutating and true to human nature the people surviving are not always the good guys. I loved the return of Dominic, a fun character! Fast paced and fun, 3.5 stars.

Human Filth - The start of this book made me wonder if it was part of the same series. Set several years in the future new mutants had appeared out of nowhere, with no explanation. Once I had figured out what was going on the story was decent enough but the book needed some serious editing. All of the other books in this series have been fun reads and edited so I'm not really sure what happened with this one. Still a fun story but I didn't enjoy it as much as the other ones. 2.5 stars.
