Forever Bound by C.L. Scott [4 stars]

From the Description:

Kyra doesn't believe in fate. She hates the idea that her life has been pre-planned, but when she returns to the small, coastal town of Sutton she finds herself on a path that was written long before she existed. It is a journey that will rest the fate of the world upon her shoulders.

For Kyra Summers there is nothing worse than living in one place for too long. She has spent her whole life on the road, running from herself, hiding from the world, existing rather than living. So when Gran announces an unexpected trip back to Sutton Bay, back to the family home Kyra is not happy. Even worse for the first time in her life she will be going to school, but it's only for a year...right?

Descended from an ancient race that is destined to guard the gateways between our world and the next. It is up to Kyra and her new friends to stop the evil that threatens to consume our world. Which isn't easy when you find out that monsters really do exist and you are at the top of their "most wanted" list. With a demon and a hellhound stealing her heart will Kyra walk away or be forever bound?

A really great YA paranormal! I enjoyed getting to know Kyra and her friends a lot more than with most series in this genre that feature a female lead. Kyra is NOT a little milquetoast airhead that can't function without the help of her boyfriend but a strong young woman learning who she really is. With a fast paced and engaging story I can't wait to see what happens next!
